Tyrone Smith

Is Moving in the Right Direction for a Return Despite being injured in training camp and being placed on injured reserve, offensive tackle Tyrone Smith is moving in the right direction for a return. Jerry Jones said Sunday that Smith will get back to rehearse this week. It is still too early to tell if he will play against the Texans in Week 5, but if he does, it could change how the O-line is set up.

The Cattle rustlers as of now have a 6-2 record going into Week 9's bye. So far, the offensive line has performed admirably, allowing just seven pressures and six sacks in the first eight games. They outperform their season average of 81.1% with a run block win rate of 79.1%. However, the offense has consistently been outplayed in the first quarter, so they have also been defeated in the first half of games. This was particularly evident in their Week 6 defeat to the Colts, when they allowed four mistakes in the fourth quarter.

Smith spent his rookie season on special teams and defense, but he didn't play an offensive snap. He had five stops and 1.5 stops for losses. Additionally, he returned a kickoff against Ohio State. He appeared in eight games in his second season. He made two appearances against Kent State and Eastern Michigan.

When Smith returns, it is unknown whether Connor McGovern will take over for Smith at left guard. The current starting five has played every snap, resulting in seven pressures and zero sacks. This is a good sign, and it could make things easier when Smith comes back.

Tyler Smith, a first-round Tyrone Smith rookie, will take Smith's place in the interim. Smith has filled in for Smith in the beyond couple of weeks, yet he hasn't functioned as a starter. His primary position has been that of a substitute at left tackle. He is playing well despite being ranked 55th in the NFL at that position. He will be an ideal candidate for a bigger role on the defensive line when he moves to guard.

In the end, Mike McCarthy, the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, may decide to keep Smith on the sidelines. Smith hasn't played much this year, and Mekhi Becton has already missed the entire season with a hamstring injury. It would be hard to recover from having both Becton and Smith out for a long time. In point of fact, it is conceivable that head coach McCarthy would like to keep Smith off the field for the remainder of the season.

It is evident that the Cowboys are excited to have Smith back, even though it is too soon to say what the offensive line will look like when he returns. He will likely be ready in time for the final four weeks of the regular season, but how well he recovers will determine whether or not he can be ready for game action.

With Smith's return in December, the Cowpokes should conclude what sort of arrangement they need in all out attack mode line. The group's hostile line has performed past assumptions up to this point, yet they'll have to choose if they need to depend on the more youthful Smith or acquire another veteran. The decision will be difficult if they decide to add a new piece.
