Divisorias de Vidro is the second book in the Divisorias series. It is written by Amna Deeter. This is the story of two young lovers, Florian and Karla who get to spend some quality time together, before finally tying the knot. Divisorias is not only a travel guide, but also contains some excellent advice for newly-weds on how to prepare for their big day, and how to keep their guests entertained.
The story begins in Italy. The couple boards from Genoa on their first journey. While they are travelling, the ship is attacked by pirates and they have to descend to the coast. While descending, they run into a talking frog, who has the power to change the course of their journey. In Italy, they learn that the pirate captain that attacked them is very well-known and that he has a stronghold on the coast.
As they flee the place, they run into Cosmo who wishes to help them. He has a magic book that can make anyone invisible, but he needs the help of Florian and Karla to use it. They manage to sneak onto the pirates' ship and after a very funny and tense exchange of words, the book transforms Cosmo into a monster. The book then takes place thousands of years later where the couple finds themselves in a land named Jundia.
The book continues at this point where the elves have come out of hiding and have taken over the kingdom of Jundia. They are seeking to destroy Cosmo but he is saved again by Florian and Karla. They team up with a warrior called Kopp, who falls in love with Florian immediately and is willing to risk his life to protect her. However, there are other forces that oppose them, including the evil queen who seeks to rule through the combined power of the evil warriors. The elves, humans and magic are put under threat and need to work together if they are to survive the battle.
Divisorias de vidro em jundiai is written in a very easy to understand style and is very entertaining to read. It has excellent illustrations which are full of vivid colour and also include many beautiful and exciting scene depicting the battles and actions that the characters undertake. The story is set in a fabulous land and it would be great if the world portrayed was as realistic as possible. There are some minor twists and turns that keep the plot moving along at a good pace and kept me reading without my eyes drying up.
Divisorias De Vidro Em Jundiai is the start of an intriguing fantasy series that I look forward to following. There are more to come in future books. This one was just enough to give me an excitement about the adventure the book promised to bring. It does not have any major action but the plot is very well written and captivating. The fantasy world created is very imaginative and almost too fantastic to believe. It makes me want to read more about this world and discover what lies beneath the simple pages of this book.
